Your Project Isn't Telling You The Truth

Featured Speaker: Matthew Oleniuk Founder, The Risk Insider

Most large, complex projects watch the dashboard, not the road. Leaders review familiar metrics and feel reassured by "green" indicators – even as real dangers form outside the reporting frame. Dashboards capture activity, not vulnerability, and routinely filter out the uncomfortable messages leaders most need to hear.

This session helps project leaders detect the early, subtle signals of project collapse long before timelines slip or issues become public. Using real-world examples, Matthew shows why the conditions that matter most never appear in slide decks, why routine reporting blinds teams at critical moments, and how project instability can take root when no one is looking.

Contracting professionals inside and outside the government are likely now familiar with the Cybersecurity Maturity Model (CMMC). However, real questions remain about the implications of this standard to individual organizations and government contracting as a whole. Nevertheless, CMMC is rolling ahead. The Department of Defense (DoD) made two recent announcements:

The DoD will begin a pilot launch of CMMC and will begin enforcing its use for certain contracts.
Reciprocity may be given to certain contractors that have already had a cybersecurity audit (such as FedRAMP).

This webinar will discuss the implications of these two announcements as the DoD moves into an enforcement phase of CMMC and other agencies have begun indicating that may also soon implement CMMC. This session will look forward and discuss what contracting professionals inside and outside of the government should expect and the compliance challenges associated with CMMC all the way down the supply chain.

This 90-minute, live webinar is conveniently scheduled at noon (EDT). The webinar consists of a 60-minute lecture followed by a 30-minute question and answer period.

Learning Objectives:

Describe the basic implications of CMMC and its connection to other government contracting requirements.
Recognize the broader impact of CMMC on government contracting.
Address some of the compliance challenges associated with implementing CMMC.
Discuss the implications of the recent DoD announcements.

CMBOK Competency: 2.5, "Supply Chain Management;" 3.4, “Regulatory Compliance”

Upon completion, participants will receive 1.5 CPEs. Registered participants receive access to the recording for 30 days.

Exceeding your size standard as a small business federal contractor can be a death knell. It can prevent you from bidding new work, recompeting for old work, or, with long-term contracts, receiving follow-on options after the fifth year of the contract. Faced with a potential move to the mid-tier, many small business owners look for a possible exit through the sale of their company or attempt to maintain their size status.
Credits: Participants earn 1 CPE/CLP credits for attendance at each webinar.

Contracting professionals who are used to analyzing prices for products will find that pricing services comes with a unique set of challenges and pitfalls. This can get even more complicated when acquiring services that are not solicited on a competitive basis. How do buyers determine that a provider’s proposed pricing is fair and reasonable when it’s the only proposal in hand? Similarly, how do sellers decide how do sellers land on a reasonable price without any apples-to-apples comparison? This webinar will explore the applicability of FAR-based price analysis techniques and how to apply them to a non-competitive services environment, including specific tools, techniques and market research strategies.
